Summary: The WFE has published the first study examining the dynamics of the primary markets in the Voluntary Carbon Market. The WFE Research Paper analyses a comprehensive dataset of carbon offset projects with vintage years from 1996 until 31 December 2024 across the four major voluntary registries. The paper, titled “The dynamics of global voluntary carbon markets: An empirical analysis of the carbon credits lifecycle” Author of the Research Paper, Ying Liu, will present the findings.

Dr. Ying Liu

Financial Economist, World Federation of Exchanges

Ying Liu joined the World Federation of Exchanges in September 2023 as a Financial Economist in the Research Team. She holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Lausanne and Swiss Finance Institute. Her research focuses on market microstructure, carbon markets, and institutional investors. Before joining WFE, Ying was an Assistant Professor at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
